With a name like Brigitte Bordeaux, we could hardly let Bordeaux Wine Month pass us by!

Join us for a special evening celebrating one of the world's most famous wine regions – and discovering why there's far more to Bordeaux than grand châteaux, intimidating labels and bottles that cost a small fortune.

This tasting will showcase the diversity of modern Bordeaux, exploring its famous grapes, different appellations and distinctive terroirs. We'll unravel the mysteries of the Left Bank and Right Bank, discover what makes the classic Bordeaux blend work so well, and find out how a region built on centuries of tradition is changing for a new generation of wine drinkers.

TUESDAY 22ND SEPTEMBER. 7.30PM. ‘WOULD I LIE TO YOU?’ TASTING

Continuing our recent love affair with quiz and gameshow-inspired tastings, we're putting your powers of deduction to the test with our latest wine challenge – Would I Lie to You?

For each wine we taste, we'll give you a selection of facts. The only problem? One of them isn't true. Your job is to taste the wine, listen carefully and work out which "fact" we've completely made up!

Expect some fascinating wine facts, a few convincing fibs, plenty of opportunities to second-guess yourself and, of course, a great selection of wines to enjoy along the way. No expert wine knowledge is needed – sometimes a healthy dose of suspicion might be more useful!

There will, as always, be a vinous prize for the best lie detector amongst you.

SATURDAY 26TH SEPTEMBER. 3PM. ITALIAN WINE TASTING WITH ROBERT STEEL

For this special Saturday tasting, we'll be joined by Robert Steel, one of our Italian wine importers and the man behind several of the best-selling Italian wines on our shelves. Robert will guide us through a hand-picked selection of wines from across Italy, sharing the stories behind the bottles, producers and regions along the way.

Expect a relaxed afternoon exploring some of the incredible diversity of Italian wine, from familiar favourites to some lesser-known grapes and regions – and perhaps a few new discoveries to take home with you.

Italy + wine + Saturday afternoon – what's not to like? Our Italian tastings tend to fill up quickly, as do our Saturday afternoon events, so we strongly recommend booking early to avoid disappointment. THIS EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT

THURSDAY 1ST OCTOBER. 7.30PM. A TASTING WITH THE WINEMAKER: CHARL DU PLESSIS FROM KLEIN AMOSKUIL (SWARTLAND, SOUTH AFRICA)

We're delighted to welcome Charl du Plessis, winemaker at Klein Amoskuil, all the way from South Africa's Swartland for a very special evening at Brigitte Bordeaux.

Swartland has become one of South Africa's most exciting wine regions, home to a generation of winemakers willing to experiment while allowing their vineyards and grapes to do the talking. Klein Amoskuil fits beautifully into that story. Charl combines ancient winemaking traditions with a modern low intervention approach. After travelling to Georgia to explore its centuries-old winemaking culture, he brought some of that inspiration home to South Africa, including the use of amphorae in his own winemaking.

The result is a fascinating range of characterful, expressive wines made with a light touch in the winery. Charl will guide us through a selection on the night, sharing the stories behind the vineyards, grapes and techniques, and explaining how his travels and experiences have shaped the way he makes wine today.

So, if you're already a fan of natural and low-intervention wines, this is definitely one for you – but equally, if you simply love discovering genuinely interesting and delicious wines with a story to tell, you'll find plenty to enjoy. 

TUESDAY 6TH OCTOBER. 7.30PM. ‘WHAT GROWS TOGETHER, GOES TOGETHER’ TASTING

At this tasting, we'll be travelling the world through a series of delicious regional pairings, matching wines with foods that hail from the very same place. After all, many of the world's great food and wine combinations weren't dreamt up by sommeliers – they developed naturally over generations, as people drank the local wine alongside the food produced around them.

Join us as we put the old saying to the test and discover whether what grows together really does go together! THIS EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT

SATURDAY 10TH OCTOBER. 3PM. POINTLESS WINE TASTING

Our love of gameshow-inspired wine tastings continues – and this time, the aim is to know the right answer that nobody else does!

Welcome to 'Pointless Wine', where we will be combining a great line-up of wines with our very own wine-themed take on the hit quiz show. Alongside tasting the wines, we'll be asking a series of questions where simply getting the answer right isn't enough – you'll want to come up with the most obscure correct answer you can think of.

From grapes and regions to producers, wine styles and all manner of vinous trivia, you'll need to delve into the furthest reaches of your wine knowledge – with plenty of opportunities for inspired guesses too.

And remember, in Pointless Wine, high scores are nothing to brag about! The guests with the lowest overall scores at the end of the tasting will walk away with a suitably vinous prize.

Great wines, obscure answers and the chance to discover that, for once, knowing something completely pointless might actually pay off!

WEDNESDAY 28TH OCTOBER. 7.30PM. BRIGITTE’S HALLOWINE TASTING

Something wicked this way comes... Brigitte's Hallowine Tasting is back!

Join us for a Halloween-themed journey through the darker side of the wine world, with a suitably spooky selection of bottles chosen for the occasion. 

As ever, there'll be plenty to learn about what's actually in your glass – the grapes, regions, producers and stories behind the wines – but with a distinctly Halloween twist. Expect great wine and perhaps a few tricks amongst the treats!

And, of course, fancy dress is very much encouraged, with prizes for the best costumes. Last year's winners set the bar frighteningly high with their incredible homemade Echo Falls and Blossom Hill wine bottle costumes. Genuinely terrifying!

So, the challenge has been set. Come dressed to impress (or horrify!) and raise a glass with us for a frightfully good evening of Hallowine – if you dare...
