After exploring wines from high altitudes and ancient vines at recent tastings, we're turning our attention to a different kind of influence — the sea. Maritime Wines takes a deep dive into bottles shaped by ocean breezes, salty air, and coastal climates. From zippy Albariño in Galicia to savoury reds from Sicily and mineral-driven whites from the Loire, these wines carry the subtle imprint of the sea.

THURSDAY 9TH OCTOBER. 7.30PM. CALIFORNIAN WINE TASTING

We're heading to the Golden State for our next tasting — and we're thrilled to be joined by special guest host, Bob McDonald from Top Selection Wines, who'll be pouring a brilliant selection of Californian wines from their portfolio. These bottles are all new to the shelves at Brigitte Bordeaux and this is your first chance to taste them.

From fresh, modern expressions to bold classics with a twist, expect a wide-ranging lineup that shows off the diversity and excitement coming out of California right now. FRIDAY 10TH OCTOBER. BRIGITTE’S HOUSE PARTY

We're thrilled to share some exciting news: our very own House wines are finally making their return!

In February this year, we travelled to Wine Paris with one mission in mind: to find some Bordeaux wines worthy of our label. We returned to Nottingham with a shortlist, and—after re-tasting with our team, customers, and trusted wine friends—we've chosen four fantastic new wines. 

They're now on their way and set to land in October—just in time for a proper celebration... and what better way to welcome them than with Brigitte's House Party?

On Friday 10th October, we’ll be officially launching the four new house wines - A Bordeaux Blanc, Bordeaux Rosé, Bordeaux Rouge and a special sans sulfites Bordeaux Red. For just £25, you'll get a glass of fizz on arrival, followed by a small glass of all four new wines to drink at your leisure. You'll get an information sheet about the wines, plus the chance to take home your favourite bottles at a special discounted price.

And because no party's complete without a soundtrack, we'll have live music for you to enjoy whilst you sip.

Our bar will still be open as usual with all of our other offerings, but if you'd like to take advantage of the 'house party' invite, get in touch to book your table.

Australia has come a long way from just big Shiraz and buttery Chardonnay — and this tasting is here to prove it. We'll be pouring wines from some of the country's most exciting producers and regions, showcasing just how diverse, refined, and downright delicious Australian wine can be.

WEDNESDAY 29TH OCTOBER. 7.30PM. SOUTH AFRICAN TASTING WITH GINNY POVALL AND RICHARD KELLEY MW

Join us for a really special tasting showcasing the dynamism and diversity of South African wine. We’re delighted to welcome Ginny Povall, the talent behind Botanica Wines, and Richard Kelley MW, also known as “The Liberator”, for an evening that promises exceptional wines and captivating tales.

Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Ginny moved to South Africa in the early 2000s and fell in love with the Cape’s unique terroir. Establishing Botanica Wines in the scenic Devon Valley near Stellenbosch, she quickly gained a reputation for crafting wines of elegance and precision. At this tasting, Ginny will present a selection of her wines that reflect her meticulous vineyard work and thoughtful, minimal-intervention cellar approach.

Richard is one of the UK’s leading experts on South African wine and has spent over 25 years championing the country’s most exciting producers. As a Master of Wine, his knowledge runs deep — but it’s his flair for storytelling and his knack for uncovering hidden gems that have made his “The Liberator” series legendary. Each “episode” in The Liberator range tells a unique story, featuring limited parcels of remarkable wines that might otherwise have gone undiscovered. Expect rare finds, quirky labels, and wines with real personality.

THURSDAY 30TH OCTOBER. 7.30PM. BRIGITTE’S ‘HALLOWINE’ TASTING

Join us, if you dare, for an evening of spine-tingling sips and devilishly good wines at our Halloween-themed wine tasting!

Expect the unexpected as we explore wines from the other side – curious, bold, and maybe even a little haunted. From eerie reds to ghostly whites, and with at least one orange wine rising from the cellar, this is no ordinary tasting...

Fancy dress is optional – but those in costume may find their glasses magically fuller... and there's a prize for the best dressed ghoul of the night!

THURSDAY 6TH NOVEMBER. 7.30PM. BRIGITTE’S SHERRY TASTING & FOOD PAIRING

This is undoubtedly one of the highlights of the tasting calendar for us. We love sherry and love taking part in International Sherry Week every November. We'll be promoting the wonderful world of sherry throughout the week from the 3rd to the 9th of November, with bar specials and in store promotions and giveaways. In addition, we're inviting you to join us for this special evening of sherry tasting and food pairing on Thursday the 6th. Sherry is such a varied and gastronomic wine, so we'll be tasting our way through the different styles and pairing each one with the perfect culinary accompaniment. We can't wait!

WEDNESDAY 12TH NOVEMBER. 7.30PM. ‘GRAPE HITS & TRIVIA SIPS’: WINE & MUSIC PAIRING AND QUIZ

Considering that we are big fans of music, wine and quizzes, we're surprised it's taken us so long to come up with this one! The concept materialised as we added a new wine to our shelves and noticed that it shared its name with a song from popular music. The idea of pairing wines with music followed and then it grew with the incorporation of a quiz element and since then, quite frankly, we've thought of little else!

As has become tradition over the last few years, we're hosting three 'Festive Fizz' tastings to hopefully accommodate everyone who wants to put a bit of sparkle into the start of the festive season.

As always, there will be a 10% discount offered on purchases made at the end of the evening. So, not only is it a great night out, it's also an opportunity to stock up on some great seasonal sparklers for the festivities ahead.

This is always a great day where we open lots of wines for you to taste and invite local makers and craftspeople to come and sell their wares.

Tickets are £25pp for a two-hour time slot. Please let us know if you'd like to join us between 1pm and 3pm or 3pm and 5pm. Your £25 ticket not only gets you plenty of wine to taste, it also gives you 10% off the purchase of any of your favourites on the day. Any wines you buy also qualify for free delivery straight to your door in the week following the event.

We will be putting the call out again for any local makers, bakers and craftspeople who may want to join us (for free) to sell their wares. If that sounds like you, or anyone you know, get in touch.
