Brigitte Bordeaux is an exciting new venture in Sherwood, where the local community can buy, drink and learn about wine in their own independent local wine merchant and bar.
We are looking for a part-time waiter or waitress to work regular shifts on Thursday, Friday and Saturday afternoons and evenings.
Our mission is to introduce delicious wine at a great price to Sherwood, and our Employee No.1 will receive all the necessary training from Kathryn our WSET qualified proprietor with whom the right candidate will be working. We expect the shift pattern to be no more than 18 hours a week with no later a finish than 10pm.
Waiter/Waitress responsibilities include greeting and serving customers, providing further information on food and wine menus, multi-tasking various front-of-the-house duties, general tidying duties, restocking wine and collecting the bill.

Great attitude and willingness to enthuse customers with our wine
Provide excellent customer service to guests
Greet and escort customers to their tables
Present menu and provide detailed information when asked
Prepare tables with silverware and glasses
Inform customers about the day’s wine and food specials
Offer menu recommendations upon request
Up-sell additional products when appropriate
Take accurate food and drinks orders, using EPOS ordering software and order slips
Serve food and drink orders
Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems
Arrange table settings and maintain a tidy dining area
Deliver and collect bill payments
Carry and clean dirty plates, glasses and silverware to kitchen for cleaning
Tidying/Cleaning as needed in bar area
Follow all relevant health regulations
Enjoys drinking wine and has some wine knowledge
Prior work experience as a Waiter or Waitress
Hands-on experience with cash register and ordering information system (e.g. EPOS)
Attentiveness and patience for customers
Excellent presentation skills
Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a service environment
Active listening and effective communication skills
Flexibility to work in shifts
Food safety training is a plus
